The pitter patter of little feet.....

Last Sunday a baby shower was held for Daniela who was expecting a little bundle in October. To my surprise when I delivered the cake, Natalie, Daniela's sister, informed me that Daniela's little bundle got a little impatient and couldn't wait any longer to meet his parents.  As it turns out Daniela had a little boy the night before her shower.  Mommy and baby are doing fine. The shower still took place but with the absence of the guest of honour. She was a little busy.  Here is the cake we made for Daniela and her little bundle of Joy.

At the time the cake was ordered Daniela had no idea if she was having a girl or a boy so neutral colours were in order.  Daniela liked the minty green so we chose that to be our main focus. The design was one of a few that Natalie and Daniela were deciding on and in the end they chose the baby bottom cake.

The bottom cake is a 12" wild raspberry cake with cream cheese filling.  The little feet, which are made from fondant, going around the cake are to resemble the baby shower invites in various soft pastel colours.

The baby bottom is a round chocolate Guinness cake filled with white chocolate cream mousse then covered in white textured fondant to resemble a diaper.  The legs and feet are made from fondant as is the little blanket draped over baby's bottom.

Our warmest best wishes go out to the new Mommy & Daddy and their little bundle of Joy.
Many wonderful years are ahead, enjoy every minute as times just seems to fly by.
