Wendy's birthday

This past weekend a dear friend and neighbour celebrated her 58th birthday and her partner Kim asked if we could make her a cake since a few of their friends were coming to help celebrate. 

Kim was playing around with the # 58 and sent me an email with what she wanted on the cake. Pretty clever huh? Except that 5 - 8 actually equals -3 but who's counting. The cake is an 8" square vanilla cake filled with white chocolate mousse & fresh strawberries.

We added blue fondant flowers since blue happens to be Wendy's favourite and since the lettering was done in a navy blue we thought covering the cake in yellow complimented the blue.
