"Frozen" birthday cake for Cruz

Cruz has turned 4! and on Sunday her friends and family gathered to help her celebrate.  This year Cruz requested a cake with the theme of her new favourite movie "Frozen" and my new favourite too.  When I dropped off her cake she looked adorable dressed up as Elsa, the ice Princess.

This 10" cake is in Cruz's favourite flavor; chocolate fudge and filled with cookies & cream. The butter cream icing detail around the cake is a technique that Cruz's mom Tanya saw and asked if we could do this technique in the colours chosen for the party and very much the colours in the movie; white, blue, violet and purple.

 

The snowflakes were done in gum paste while the characters were purchased by Tanya so that Cruz would have them to play with afterwards.

We pulled the orange from Olaf's nose to add another colour and used it for Cruz's name at the base of the cake.
