Baby Shower

Earlier this evening Claire picked up a cake she requested for a friend and colleague of hers who is having a baby. Last year Claire had ordered a wedding cake for her friend, it was our sea shell wedding cake and now this year it's baby time.  The expecting couple opted not to know if they are having a boy or a girl, but they will soon find out.  So we kept the theme with soft neutral pastels.

Bottom tier is an 8" vanilla cake with vanilla mousse & fresh strawberries. The top tier is a 6" chocolate cake with vanilla mousse and mini choc chips.  Both tiers are covered in a pale yellow fondant though it is difficult to see the yellow in the picture.  All details are made from fondant including our little teddy bear and heart balloons.

The bottom tier has little fondant baby items scattered where the top tier has heart imprints lightly shaded in yellow luster dust.

Tomorrow Claire along with a few other colleagues and friends will be honouring the mommy to be and showering her with wonderful gifts and well wishes.  Congratulations to the happy couple awaiting their little bundle of joy.  Always remember;
