Garden themed Bridal Shower

A good friend of Mel's requested this next cake.  Sara will be in the bridal party for her friend Marisa and Sara along with the girls in the bridal party wanted something special to help celebrate Marisa's shower which was being held at a Botanical Garden.

The only criteria for this cake was that the colours incorporated were in the corals, pinks, creams and white.  Since the shower was being held in and around flowers we decided along with Sara to make this cake a floral theme.

This vanilla cake filled with vanilla mousse is covered in chocolate fondant. Mel did an amazing job with creating the basket weave technique.  Oreo cookie crumbs were used for the effect of dirt. \

The four different flowers we selected were made from gum paste. We have pink Peony,

Blush coloured roses,

White with a hint of coral French tulips,

and two dogwood branches.

The only booboo made was mine....even though I knew that the brides name is Marisa, I somehow put Marsha on the greeting.  But Mel quickly caught the booboo and we fixed it before it actually made it's final destination. :(

We wish Marisa all the best in her upcoming wedding
and wishes for a beautiful and bright future.
